JUST SKY deals with fiction and reality connected
to place with a starting point in a multimillion dollar project called The Freedom
Ship where the notion of utopia is being sold by offering exclusive living on
a not yet existing permanent residential vessel with intension to travel around
the world. Using seductive illustrations one build the illusion of a ideal life.
Inspired by these illustrations my work has developed towards a research how
sky is being used to represent utopia, creating an illusion of perfection in
media and commercial ads, being presented to us in a utopian context whereas
in reality the blue sky is threatened by environmental problems.
